The Space Dynamics Group (SDG), formerly know as Grupo de Dinámica de Tethers (Tether Dynamics Group) was established in 1995 in the School of Aeronautics of the Technical University of Madrid (Universidad Politécnica de Madrid: UPM) under the lead of Prof. Jesús Peláez.

The group long-term goal is to contribute, through high-impact research activity, to the future development of the aerospace field in the areas of astrodynamics, mission analysis and new concepts in space propulsion and actuation.

Thanks to a strong academic base and its long-term relationship with space industries, space agencies and universities as well as its multidisciplinary focus, the group is rapidly gaining recognition at international level.
